I know that I just posted about the closeness of autumn, so you may be wondering why I’m already moving on to winter. Well, posting images from Jon and Jennifer’s stunningly beautiful Vermont winter wedding is long overdue. And perhaps there are a few couples out there planning a wedding for the upcoming winter season!
A very perfect place to have a Vermont winter wedding is in Stowe, Vt. at the Stowehof Inn and Resort. Even without snow the alpine style of the Inn is quintessentially wintry.
I arrived at the Stowehof on the day of the wedding pretty relieved. The previous week had been frigid…exceptionally cold even for this Vermont photographer and I worried not only for my sake but for the couple and their guests! Luckily the temps had warmed into the 20’s so we were much safer from frostbite. I visited Jon first who was quietly getting ready so I snapped and few and headed upstairs to meet the bride.
The ladies were relaxed and having a great time. Jennifer’s laugh was infectious!
The cool mountain air was actually refreshing after the coziness of the bridal suite.
The couple opted to have a First Look which was almost necessary given they had a winter ceremony scheduled for late afternoon. Around here it gets DARK as early as late afternoon in these parts so this strategy allowed us to get the family and wedding party portraits done while it was still light.
Off to the Stowe Community Church for the ceremony. Such a big, bright church with beautiful light.
The bouquets were from Uncle George’s Flowers.
A little wink…
Since we were so crafty and got the bulk of the posed photos out of the way, we had a good chunk of time to wander around Stowe for some wintry shots.
Our last stop couldn’t have been more perfect. Good timing and a LOT of luck. After I snapped about a thousand images, the couple just quietly soaked up the moment. What an amazing wedding memory!
Back to the Stowehoff…

I love this moment.
Time for a little music from Top Hat Entertainment.
Oh what a night! As you can see it was quite the party. I stole the couple away for a parting shot by the fire. Congratulations Jon and Jennifer!
