Vermont Wedding | Eric + Sarah

Well, hello blue sky…yes, I would like to photograph a wedding today. What’s that? Sunshine and flowers and green accents…why thank you yes. That was just a little of my internal dialogue as I pulled up to the house for Eric and Sarah’s wedding day. It was perfect.

The house was amazing in itself (don’t you love the green door?). And it was a special place since the couple had lived there with Sarah’s parents for the past two years while searching for their own home that they found and moved into just a month before the wedding day.

The garden out back was the perfect spot and Sarah’s parents worked overtime all summer to prep, plant, and prune the amazing perennials and annuals.

Inside, Sarah was getting the finishing touches on hair and makeup.

I took the opportunity to capture some of her lovely bridal details.

Eric was downstairs with the groomsmen in the bar getting ready. The room meant a lot to Eric since he (an amazing professional woodworker…seriously hire him!) had completed much of the room’s woodwork over the summer too. Can we say overachievers in this family?!

Back upstairs it was time for Sarah to put on the dress. Her Mom helped with the finishing touches.

The couple planned their schedule with a First Look. Sarah looked gorgeous and I snapped this as she snuck downstairs to their meeting spot.

A shady patio was the perfect private spot for their First Look.

We had time to meander around the property for couple portraits. The bright green door was the perfect color accent for this summer wedding!

I quickly realized that these two needed little direction in their poses!

And the timing worked out perfectly to get some photos that included Nellie, the couple’s lab. She was such a sweet dog!

I also let them relax a bit…

We finished in the bar.

Here are a few of my favorite wedding party portraits. I just loved the shorts and the fairy dresses.

We finished up the family portraits just in time for the ceremony to start. Here’s Eric, his Mom, and Nellie.

A view of the bride’s approach…

The green pillars were such a fun detail. They were formal and at the same time so quirky!

Both the bride and the groom had fun reactions to getting the ring on the other’s hand.

Time for cocktails! Another section of the garden was perfect for guests to mingle and relax. And thanks to planning the First Look and the other formal photos before the ceremony, the couple had the whole time to spend with their guests.

Well, except for a few minutes that I had to steal them away…

Zinnias and hyacinths added color and texture to the tables. Sarah’s Mom made little jars of jam for each of the guests. Amazing!

Introducing the married couple…

Toasts and laughs…

While the guests were eating, I captured a little more of the vibrant color around the gardens.

Such a clever idea to project a slideshow onto the tent.

More toasts!

Parent dances.

I loved this of the couple. They danced the night away with their guests! Congratulations Eric and Sarah…here’s to a lifetime of happiness!

It took a lot of great people to pull the day together. Here’s the links to all the awesome wedding professionals that helped:
