In early September, I was lucky enough to shoot at the beautiful The Essex. It was a great sunny day with all of the usual anticipation, but it was extra special for Will and Jessica since Will had just taken a new job and the couple was going to be moving to California a week after the wedding. It was not only a chance for them to celebrate with family but to see all the special people in their lives before they headed to the other side of the country!
As I always love to do, I started my day capturing the preparation details of the ladies. Jess’s dress was full of vintage charm.
Jess’s “something borrowed” was a beautiful cameo ring lent to her by her mother.
Ready to go with 20 minutes to spare! That has to be a new record for brides that I’ve worked with!
Jason followed the guys, pre-ceremony. I don’t want to embarrass Will but he was a nervous wreck!
Blessed with sunny weather, the ceremony was held outside in the gardens. The ceremony programs were printed on fans…what a fabulous idea!
Will and best man waiting behind the scenes…
Jess coming down the aisle…
One from the ceremony. It was such a gorgeous day.
The grounds around the Resort are so lush and beautiful…tons of great spots to take the couple.
The cocktail hour was also outside complete with a crepe station.
A few details from the reception.
Will and Jess’s first dance was a little unusual and Will definitely put on a performance!
I love this group shot of Will and Jess with their friends…very Godfather-ish.
Jess and her girls.
A parting shot from outside the reception. Congratulations to Will and Jess and I hope that you are settling in nicely in California!!
